Paige Bueckers Stated the Obvious About USA Women's Olympic Basketball Team

Yukihito Taguchi-USA TODAY Sports

UConn star Paige Bueckers said what so many of us were thinking watching Team USA dominate Japan in women's basketball competition at the Olympics. Bueckers posted a simple but seemingly accurate statement, "The A’ja & Stewie frontcourt is unfair", that in reference to the combination of Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, both former WNBA MVPs.

Wilson and Stewart dominated Japan, combining for 46 points on 21-31 shooting. That to go with 21 rebounds between the pair. The two stars had a significant size advantage over the opposition in this one, with the tallest Japanese player standing at just 6'1. For context, Wilson and Stewart are 6'5 and 6'4 respectively. If the production from said duo wasn't enough, Team USA got points from everyone on the roster, with Chelsea Gray chipping in 13 assists to keep the ball moving for the Americans.

Team USA won the game by 26 points and kept their Olympic winning streak intact. It was the 56th straight win for the squad, which hasn't lost in the games since 1992. They are going for an 8th consecutive gold medal in Paris. With Wilson and Stewart up front, it is hard to believe they won't get the job done. Likely in convincing fashion. In the process, the two teammates who faced off in the last WNBA Finals will continue to impress fans who tune in to the Olympics, and that obviously goes for fellow hoopers like Bueckers as well.
