It will be the USA vs France for Olympic gold in basketball, twice. Both the men's and women's teams from the US and France will face off for the gold medal, the first time the matchup has been the same in Olympics history.

On the women's side, France bested Belgium in overtime, setting up a showdown with Team USA. The US has won 60-consecutive games in Olympics competition and is looking for an eighth-straight gold medal. And the squad has looked even stronger since inserting Las Vegas Aces star Jackie Young into the starting lineup.

France was led by former UConn standout Gabby Williams in taking down Belgium. Williams leads the French team in scoring and assists during these Olympics. France goes into the gold medal game with a 4-1 record having lost once to Australia during group play.

Meanwhile, the US men will also face France for Olympic glory after narrowly escaping Nikola Jokic and Serbia in order to set up a contest against Victor Wembanyama and company. Head coach Steve Kerr has already announced his starting lineup with Kevin Durant going into the first five to join Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Devin Booker, and Steph Curry.

The men's final will take place Saturday at 3:30 pm EST. It will be broadcast on NBC television and will stream on Peacock. The women's contest is set for Sunday at 9:30 am EST and will also be on NBC and Peacock.

So get ready for some USA and France basketball, back-to-back, with a lot of gold on the line.
