It's safe to say Chicago Sky star Chennedy Carter was not happy about her ranking amongst the top 25 WNBA players on ESPN's latest list. Carter was ranked 24th and took to social media to dispute her placement.

Carter wrote, "How I average less minutes and my stats top in the league but I am at the bottom, this isn't adding up" on an Instagram story sharing the list. She also expressed a similar sentiment on X.

The Sky's CC has a point, given she has produced at an exceptional level since being moved into the starting lineup. She leads Chicago in scoring and has averaged over 20 points per game since becoming a starter. Which gives her a case to be placed over her teammate rookie Angel Reese, who came in at 18th, since it could easily be argued Carter has been the team's best player.

However, it is perhaps reactions like this one that have led to Chennedy not ranking higher. Plenty of her WNBA peers could take umbrage with the list, but she appears to be the only one making it noticeable.

For instance, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark comes in at just 15th, that despite being in the top 3 in MVP odds, thus making it seem like the selections were made on legacy more than anything.

Carter bounced around the league and was eventually out of the WNBA, mostly due to off court issues, before finding a new career lease with the Sky. So it's probably best she let her play continue to do the talking.

Because if she can consistently produce at the level she has thus far, it will be hard to keep her from moving up on every list. I'm sure Chennedy wouldn't disagree with that.
