A'ja Wilson's Olympics Glasses Stood Out at Opening Ceremony in Paris

Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson has no problem standing out on a basketball court. That goes for the WNBA and with her role as a member of the USA women's basketball team set to compete in the Olympics. But it was what she was wearing for the opening ceremony in Paris that caught some attention. Wilson was sporting some glasses featuring the Olympic rings and made sure to thank Steph Curry for the accessory.

Wilson is the presumptive favorite to win MVP in the WNBA and is also the leader of the squad expected to take home gold at the Olympic games. However, she stood out at the ceremonies too, not only for her shades, but also during a moment she shared with USA tennis star Coco Gauff.

Wilson was caught front and center during the festivities on NBC standing behind track star Noah Lyles, even if Kelly Clarkson appeared to be unaware who she was. Clarkson pointed out what A'ja was wearing without identifying her during the broadcast. Though, anyone who doesn't know her name will learn it quickly if they watch the women's basketball team in action in Paris. Team USA begins play on July 29th taking on Japan in the Group Phase. That will be followed by contests against Belgium and Germany on August 1st and 4th respectively.

Wilson had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the opening exhibition against Germany, picking up right where she left off when it comes to the dominance she has consistently displayed in the W, while also picking up a figurative W during the Olympics opening ceremony.
