Angel Reese Discusses Training With NBA Legend Tim Duncan During WNBA Offseason

Sky rookie Angel Reese spoke out about potentially being coached by an NBA All-Time great this offseason.

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has already cemented herself as one of the WNBA's best forwards.

Reese is currently leading the league in rebounds with 12.3, already set the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles with 15, and is on pace to set the WNBA single-season record for offensive rebounds.

Despite all of this recent success, there's still room for the "Chi Barbie" to improve. And who better for her to sharpen her skillset with than one of the best power forwards in NBA history?

Reese was interviewed by Brandon Robinson of "Scoop B Radio" on Wednesday. At one point in the interview, Robinson asked Reese, "How cool would it be if Angel Reese and Tim Duncan trained together in the offseason?"

"I mean always learning from a legend is great,” Reese said about potentially working with Duncan. “For me, I love to pick people’s brains and pick a lot of great players’ brains so of course it would be great."

Duncan is inarguably one of (if not the) greatest power forwards of all time. He is a five-time NBA Champion with the San Antonio Spurs, a three-time NBA Finals MVP, a two-time NBA MVP, a 15-time NBA All-Star, a 10-time All-NBA 1st Team selection, and a 2020 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.

Duncan's nickname during his playing days was "the Big Fundamental" because of his masterful basics in the paint.

Reese would surely benefit from working with Duncan during this upcoming offseason. Yet, because Duncan isn't an active coach and Reese already has a busy schedule, she made no promises about this iconic collaboration coming to fruition.

“I’m just worried about right now. I mean I can’t dictate who I workout with, I’m just looking forward to getting better at the moment,” Reese said.

Reese and the Chicago Sky's next game is on August 23 against the Connecticut Sun.
