Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever Look Like a WNBA Threat

The Indiana Fever look like a dangerous WNBA team coming out of the Olympics break.

Lexie Hull hitting outside shots could change everything for the Indiana Fever. Hull hit 6 of 7 shots from deep in the team's win over the Seattle Storm, helping the Fever pull away in the contest against one of the league's top teams.

Obviously that clip is probably not sustainable but one thing that has been missing for Indiana all season is consistent 3 and D production from the wing. Hull has provided hustle in her appearances on the floor all year, but the shooting had been an issue. If she has found her stroke that would fill the biggest hole for the Fever, because the rest of the foundation is already there.

Caitlin Clark continued her brilliance against the Storm despite struggling with her own deep ball early. Clark not only broke the WNBA rookie assists record in the contest while putting her dazzling court vision on display, but she also looked far more comfortable taking the ball to the basket and operating in the midrange. Which is a scary sight for any prospective opponents. Clark finished with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Of course Caitlin is not the only All-Star on the team. Kelsey Mitchell has been on a heater coming out of the Olympics break, having scored 55 points since play resumed in forming perhaps the most explosive backcourt in the W. While Aliyah Boston continues to provide steady play in nearly every area. Boston had 9 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists against Seattle, and her two-person game with Clark is so tough to deal with because each makes great decisions with the basketball.

Indiana has beaten two winning teams since the season resumed and looked convincing in doing so. They are also now 5-0 in their last five games against teams over .500.

The Fever still have some flaws, especially how they look offensively when Clark takes a breather, but the defense has been better and they are an obvious offensive powerhouse.

There is no way any other squad in the WNBA is going to want to see them in a playoff matchup, as the team's goal of simply making it to the postseason is starting to seem like a very conservative one.
