While Rebecca Lobo's legendary playing career has come to a close, the UConn Huskies legend and WNBA icon has become one of the most respected figures in the women's basketball media community.

Lobo has been an outspoken advocate of Iowa Hawkeyes rookie sensation Caitlin Clark for years. And one of her boldest takes about Clark has resurfaced on social media Friday.

On February 3, 2024, Lobo wrote on X, "If @CaitlinClark22 gets drafted to the @IndianaFever this summer, I believe she will put up MVP-caliber numbers as a rookie. While her opponents will be at a different skill level than in college, her teammates will be at another level as well. Her game translates."

The reason Lobo's post has returned to people's timelines is that this extremely bold take has been proven accurate. Clark has firmly asserted herself as part of the WNBA MVP conversation.

Many media members believe that the MVP race between her and Las Vegas Aces star forward A'ja Wilson is now closer than the 2024 Rookie of the Year race between Clark and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

And while Lobo faced some initial criticism for this X post, fans are now praising the women's basketball icon for her impressive foresight.

"They always boo her but in the end she is always right, her words always come out to be true," one X user noted.

"The accuracy sheesh," added another.

A third X user used a viral video clip from this year's SAG Awards to convey how Lobo must be feeling about this take coming true.

While A'ja Wilson is still considered the clear favorite for the 2024 WNBA MVP, there's plenty of time left for Clark to close the gap even further before the regular season concludes.
