Watch: Mexico's Miguel Layún scores for Watford vs. Everton in EPL

Mexico international Miguel Layún scored newly-promoted Watford's first goal of the EPL season, rifling a bouncing ball in the box past American goalkeeper Tim Howard to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead at Everton's Goodison Park.
Layún took advantage of a cross that was deflected by Everton defender Phil Jagielka, pouncing on the loose ball and giving Howard no chance of a save with a powerful strike in the 14th minute.

The goal is Layún's first for Watford, a club he joined in the January transfer window last season and helped earn promotion to the Premier League. Before the move, Layún was a mainstay at Mexicon power Club America, and has become a regular with the Mexican national team, with which he won the 2015 Gold Cup over the summer.
