Nikola Jokic Next Team Market Firmly with Nuggets

Would Nikola Jokic really part ways with the Denver Nuggets? Probably not, but Kalshi’s NBA next team market gives it the slightest chance. Denver is firmly at the top of the board with a 96% chance to keep Jokic.
The profit is minimal trading on Jokic to remain in Denver at $.38 on a $10 trade. The Los Angeles Lakers are the only other team priced on the board, at 7%. Kalshi grades this market based on which team Jokic is with by October 21st, 2026.
Nikola Jokic Next Team - Kalshi
- Denver Nuggets 96%
- Los Angeles Lakers 7%
- No Team/Retires 1%
Finishing his career in the Mile High
Most fans and analysts regard Nikola Jokic as the greatest player in Denver Nuggets franchise history. It’s rare that a player of his caliber opts to leave their team. Jokic has stated time and time again that he plans to play the rest of his career in Denver.
"My idea and desire is to stay in Denver. I'll probably sign next year," Jokic said. “My desire is to
play the rest of my life in Denver."
The market for Jokic’s next team came up after the three-time MVP opted to hold out on signing a four-year extension worth up to $278 million. His reasoning is to wait until July 2027, when he is eligible to sign a five-year, $359.5 million extension instead.
Jokic rumors
Rumors linking Jokic to the Lakers were lukewarm and quickly died after the team signed Walker Kessler and Austin Reaves to big contracts that eliminated their remaining cap space. Any possible route for Jokic to join the Lakers now would require a trade.
There is one other team not listed on Kalshi’s board that has been "aggressively" pursuing Jokic. The Panathinaikos Basketball Club in Athens, Greece. Club owner, Dimitrios Giannakopoulos even went as far as stating that he made a “very serious proposal” to both the Nuggets and Jokic this season.
"People are going to say, 'OK, now he's joking,'" Giannakopoulos said on the Euro Insiders podcast. "I did make a very serious proposal this year both to his team and to him. I got a rejection. I know that he has one more year of a contract."
We’ll see Jokic in action throughout the offseason in scheduled FIBA games for Serbia against France on August 20 and Belgrade on August 23.
