Jeff Niemann Has Fractured Leg, Will Miss At Least 4-6 Weeks

Tampa Bay Rays right hander Jeff Niemann will miss at least 4-6 weeks with a small fracture in his right leg, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Niemann suffered the injury when he was struck by a ground ball by Adam Line, according to the Times. While the Rays initially believed that the injury was just a bruised ankle, more recent X-rays have exposed the fracture. The Times reports that he could miss several months for healing and rehabilitation.

In seven starts this season, Niemann has posted a 2-3 record with a 3.38 ERA. Last year in 23 starts he went 11-7 with a 4.06 ERA.
