The Chicago Bulls have locked up Head Coach Tom Thibodeau to a four-year extension, the team announced today. The deal prevents Thibodeau from entering the 2013 offseason as a free agent, as he was in the final, team-optioned year of his contract.

The Bulls have showed marked improvement since the hiring of Thibodeau in 2010, his first job as head coach. In 2011 he tied to record for most wins by a rookie head coach with 62, and in 2012 he reached 100 wins faster than any head coach in NBA history.
