Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter dislocated his elbow in the team's Thanksgiving Day loss to the Washington Redskins.
The Cowboys hoped that injury would allow Carter tor return to action in two weeks, but it turns out he also broke a bone in his elbow that will require surgery later this week, reports The Dallas Morning News.
As a result, the Cowboys placed Carter on season-ending injured reserve on Monday. Carter is the fourth defensive starter to be placed on the IR, joining linebacker Sean Lee, safety Barry Church and defensive end Kenyon Coleman.
