San Francisco running back Frank Gore will remember to wear his socks in a fashion acceptable to the NFL when the 49ers play the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.
The league thought his socks were too low in the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons and subsequently fined him $10,500 for the uniform violation, as reported by The Associated Press.
Gore, 29, will not appeal the fine, admitting he was wrong and promised he won't do it again. He said he was focused on winning the game and didn't give him uniform the proper attention it deserved:
"Yeah, I'll be cool. It's all good. I was wrong. Next time I'll do better. [W]hen you're playing, you don't think about it. You're trying to win."
Gore ran for two touchdowns in the 28-24 come-from-behind victory over the Falcons. The game also marked his sixth 1,000 yard season, the most in 49ers franchise history and second among active players behind Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams.
