The Chargers have cut veteran tight end Randy McMichael, according to ProFootballTalk. McMichael has played with the Chargers for the past three seasons. The decision did not come as a major surprise -- McMichael had been phased out of the team's passing game and salary considerations appeared to be a significant factor:
"Although McMichael’s $1 million base salary for 2013 was affordable, he was due a $250,000 roster bonus on the fifth day of the league year, and that was more than the Chargers wanted to give a player who will be 34 before the season starts."
