The St. Louis Cardinals activated third baseman David Freese from the disabled list for Monday's home opener against the Cincinnati Reds. Freese missed the first six games of the season due to a lower back strain sustained during Spring Training.
General manager John Mozeliak confirmed Freese would be activated from the disabled list during an interview on KMOX radio. Freese appeared in three games during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis and collected three hits and drove in two runs against Oklahoma City on Sunday.
