The Boston Bruins have signed right winger Jarome Iginla, according to multiple reports. Iginla signs a performance-based contract that could add up to $6 million. His base salary for the 2013-2014 season will be $1.8 million with a $3.7 million bonus if he reaches a certain amount of games played and a $500,000 goal scoring and team playoff incentive.
The 17-year veteran had spent 16 full seasons with the Calgary Flames before being dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins in an attempt to win his first Stanley Cup. Iginla had a no-movement clause in his contract with the Flames and chose the Penguins over the Bruins at the trade deadline last season. The Bruins defeated the Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Iginla scored 14 goals in 44 games last season between the Flames and Penguins last season. Over his 17-year-career, Iginla has scored 530 goals and has tallied 1,1106 points.
