Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Ben Revere suffered a broken right foot during the first game of a doubleheader, the team announced.
He suffered the injury on a foul ball off his foot in the 11th inning of the game, a 5-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
He will be evaluated by a specialist on Monday and placed on the disabled list.
Revere, 25, is batting .304 this season with no home runs and 17 RBI in 87 games and was starting to heat up at the plate, raising his batting average 20 points in the past 10 days. He is also fourth in the National League with 22 stolen bases.
