Tom Brady shared his concern for Aaron Hernandez's behavior with Tim Tebow during a postgame conversation in 2011.
The exchange is part of an NFL Films highlight video that includes Brady and Tebow shaking hands after the Week 15 Patriots-Broncos game in Denver. The conversation concerning Tebow's former Florida teammates turned Patriots Hernandez and Brandon Spikes was first spotted by MassHoleSports.com.
Around the 1:20 mark of the video, Brady can be heard saying, "I'm trying to watch over Aaron and Brandon."
“I appreciate that, too, man. They’re good guys,” Tebow responds.
Brady replies with "[Yeah] they're a lot to handle."
KING: Tim Tebow landed in perfect spot with Patriots
Perhaps Brady was referring to his experiences with Hernandez that reporteldy included threatening veteran Wes Welker only days after being drafted. Tebow reportedly was a witness to Hernandez's involvement in an altercation outside a Gainesville, Fla. restaurant in 2007.
A year and a half after their postgame chat, Brady and Tebow are now teammates, while Spikes continues to be a nonconformist missing Patriots OTAs and Hernandez has been released from the team after being arrested and jailed for murder. An added twist: Tebow could help fill the void left by Hernandez by shifting from quarterback to tight end.
