Diamondbacks' Cody Ross on DL with hip injury, season likely done

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed right fielder Cody Ross on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right hip, the team announced. Monday.
Ross suffered the injury attempting to beat out an infield hit in the first inning of Sunday's 9-5 loss to the New York Mets and had to be carted off the field. Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Monday that Ross will likely miss the rest of the season.
Ross was hitting .278 with eight home runs and 38 RBI this season. The Diamondbacks are 59-57 and 7.5 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.
