St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina left Monday afternoon's game against the Cincinnati Reds in the bottom of the fifth inning due to left wrist soreness, the team announced.
He was replaced by Rob Johnson after going 0-2 and the team says his status is day-to-day.
Molina missed time earlier this year with a right knee sprain. He has 10 home runs and 61 RBI and is third in the National League in batting average (.327).
The Cardinals entered the day tied for the National League Central lead with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
