Denver Broncos star cornerback Champ Bailey has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Bailey has been limited since he suffered a setback to his foot injury Week 7, and still hasn't recovered. He originally injured his foot during an Aug. 17 preseason game at Seattle. Bailey has played in just two regular season games since hurting his foot.

He is considered week-to-week as he recovers, and says he could return soon. From The Denver Post's report:

"I'm pretty close (to returning)," Bailey said. "It's really one of those things where I have to practice a few days and get through it — get my confidence back in it. That's really what it's based on — the pain and the confidence that I'll have in my foot."

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will continue to fill in as Denver's No. 1 corner.
