Percy Harvin reveals he had tumor removed in offseason

After making his season debut with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, wide receiver Percy Harvin revealed that, in addition to hip surgery last offseason, he underwent an appendectomy. And during the latter procedure, doctors found a benign tumor on his appendix.

Harvin revealed the bits of news after the Seahawks' 41-20 victory Sunday over the Minnesota Vikings, Harvin's former team.

"I've been through a lot besides the hip surgery," Harvin said, according to ESPN.com's Terry Blount. ‘‘So it was an enjoyable feeling to get back out there. I wanted to see where I was at. Today was the test everyone wanted to see. I don't see any more setbacks. I'm looking to take off from here."

Harvin had one catch for 17 yards on Sunday, and he returned a kickoff 58 yards.
