A day after signing free-agent catcher Brian McCann to a five-year, $85 million deal, the New York Yankees are moving on to pursuing more high-profile players on the market.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported Sunday that the team is involved in talks with free-agent outfielders Carlos Beltran, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Shin-Soo Choo, shortstop Stephen Drew, and closer Joe Nathan. They're also trying to bring back starter Hiroki Kuroda and are in the process of scheduling a meeting with their own star free agent — second baseman Robinson Cano — to see "whether there's something to talk about."

Heyman reported that the Yankees are looking to set up a meeting next week with Cano, but it's unclear if one will happen. According to Heyman, there has been little progress, if any, on narrowing the bridge between what Cano wants (more than $300 million for 10 years) and what the Yankees are reportedly willing to offer (about $160 million for seven years).
