The Minnesota Wild are expected to be without forward Zach Parise for the next two-to-three weeks because of a foot injury, the team announced.
Parise suffered a foot contusion in the first period of last night's 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Monday when he blocked a slap shot. He did skate three second-period shifts, but did not play the rest of the contest.
Parise leads the team in scoring with 22 points.
"As crazy as this sounds, we feel we dodged a bone. This easily could have been 4-6 weeks," Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher said.
Parise previously had not missed any of the Wild's 78 games since signing a 13-year deal worth $98 million in 2012.
