Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would be "lucky" to return from a broken collarbone next week, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday.
And if the Packers fall out of playoff contention over the next week with Rodgers out, Rapoport reported that the team is considering sitting Rodgers for the rest of the season to avoid risking further injury.
After a 40-10 drubbing at the hands of the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, the Packers are clinging to their playoff hopes. They haven't won a game since Rodgers was injured against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 4, only managing a tie against the Minnesota Vikings. At 5-6-1, the Packers are 1.5 games back of the Lions for the NFC North division title heading into next week's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
