Yankees, Carlos Beltran sign 3-year, $45 million deal

The New York Yankees signed Carlos Beltran to a three-year deal Friday, reports Mike Feinsand of the New York Daily News.
The deal will pay Beltran $45 million over the length of the contract.
The 36-year old Beltran played the previous two seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, helping the team reach the World Series where they lost to the Boston Red Sox. The All Star outfielder hit .296 with 24 home runs in 2013.

The Yankees lost two players to free agency on Friday with Robinson Cano signing with the Seattle Mariners and Curtis Granderson going to the cross-town New York Mets.
