The New York Yankees signed Carlos Beltran to a three-year deal Friday, reports Mike Feinsand of the New York Daily News.

The deal will pay Beltran $45 million over the length of the contract.

The 36-year old Beltran played the previous two seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, helping the team reach the World Series where they lost to the Boston Red Sox. The All Star outfielder hit .296 with 24 home runs in 2013.
