Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Person won't need surgery on his sprained right foot, ESPN.com's Ben Goessling reported Monday, but he remains unlikely to play against the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday.

Peterson said on Monday that he planned to play against the Eagles. But results of a CT scan done Monday showed that Peterson will need to spend time in a walking boot and "prove he can run once he gets out of the boot," according to Goessling. He previously reported Monday that an MRI revealed no torn ligaments and ruled out a Lisfranc injury.

Peterson was injured during the second quarter of the Vikings' thrilling 29-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. He came into the game leading the NFL in rushing.
