Stephen Strasburg and the Washington National avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year deal worth $3.975 million, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Strasburg had a 3.00 ERA and 191 strikeouts in 30 starts for the Nationals last season, after being shut down early in 2012 due to concerns about re-injuring his shoulder.
The deal will also include performance incentives that could push the contract over the $4 million mark.
