Report: Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers agree to $215M extension

Two-time National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers have reached an agreement on a contract extension that will make the left-hander the highest paid pitcher of all time, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles.

Kershaw's extension reportedly is worth $215 million over seven years, with an out after five seasons.

Those numbers would exceed the seven-year, $180 million extension Justin Verlander signed with the Tigers last season.

Kershaw, who will be 26 on Opening Day, was 16-9 with a 1.81 ERA and 232 strikeouts last season and has led the NL in ERA for three straight seasons while throwing more than 200 innings in each of the last four years.
