Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett believes in getting paid what you are worth and when asked if he would take a "hometown discount" to stay with the Super Bowl champions, Bennett was having none of that talk.

"There is no such thing as discount," Bennett told NFL Network. "This isn't Costco, this isn't Walmart; this is real life."

Bennett is a free-agent after signing a one-year deal worth $4.8 million last offseason.  He had 8.5 sacks in 2013 with one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The team could also slap the franchise tag on Bennett, but that would bump his salary to $12.6 million next season.

"There is no discount really because you go out there and you don't give a discount on effort," Bennett said. "You go out there and you give the best effort every day and you fight for your teammates, and you want to be compensated for the way that you perform and the kind of teammate you are."
