Dale Earnhardt Jr. appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated after Daytona 500 victory
Just a few days after claiming his second Daytona 500 title, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will appear on a regional cover of Sports Illustrated. In the cover story, Lars Anderson examines a triumph that Dale Jr.'s girlfriend called the most significant of his career.
Earnhardt Jr. won the race after a weather delay that spanned upwards of six hours. His victory came a year after finishing second at the 2013 Daytona 500.
This week's cover is Earnhardt Jr.'s fifth and his first since 2008.

Dale Jr. also visited SI Now's studio on Monday, just hours after finishing the rain-soaked race at Daytona International Speedway. On SI Now, Earnhardt Jr. described his familiarity with Daytona and how it helped him earn a victory.
