Anaheim Ducks forward Dustin Penner has been traded to the Washington Capitals, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
Penner -- formerly with the Los Angeles Kings -- had signed a one-year deal worth $2 million with the Ducks last offseason, having previously played there from the start of his career in 2005 until 2007, according to TSN.
In return for the forward, Washington -- a team looking to make a late-season playoff push -- has sent a fourth round pick to the league-leading Ducks. Penner, 31, will become a free agent this offseason.
