Brewers reliever Jim Henderson, who has struggled this season with a 7.15 ERA in 11 1/3 innings, has been placed on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, the team announced on Friday. Milwaukee recalled outfielder Caleb Gindl to take his roster spot.
The 31-year-old Canadian got the loss Thursday night in Cincinnati. He entered a tie game in the eighth inning and allowed five runs on four hits and a walk in only 2/3 of an inning.

Henderson had three straight scoreless outings before Thursday but he hasn't been sharp this year, while Francisco Rodriguez has been one of the league's top closers, with 13 saves and a 0.00 ERA in 16 appearances.
Gindl, 25, hit .242 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 57 games last season.
Milwaukee (20-9), which has the best record in baseball, plays the second of a four-game series in Cincinnati on Friday night.
