The 140th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. No horse in the last 25 editions of the race has won from the No. 1 or 2 gate, and none has ever won from the No. 17 spot. Over the last five years, however, two winning horses -- Big Brown (2008) from the 20th and I'll Have Another (2012) from the 19th -- have started even further outside.
Here are the 19 horses and their post positions for this year's race.
