The Braves have locked up third baseman Chris Johnson for at least three more years.

The Braves and Johnson have agreed to a three-year contract extension with a club option for a fourth year, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Financial terms of the deal weren't immediately known. Johnson is making $4.75 million this season as a first-year arbitration-eligible player.

Johnson accompanied Justin Upton to Atlanta from Arizona in a January 2013 trade. He hit .321, second behind Michael Cuddyer in batting average in the National League. Johnson had 34 doubles, 12 homers and 68 RBI last season.

So far this season, Johnson is hitting .231 with just one home run.
