Report: Investigation of Chris Kluwe's release to be completed soon

The Minnesota Vikings investigation into claims by former punter Chris Kluwe that he was not retained by the team because of his support for gay marriage will be completed in the next two weeks, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Kluwe claims special teams coordinator Mike Priefer frequently used homophobic slurs in his presence during the 2012 season, after the punter wrote several articles supporting same-sex marriage in Minnesota.

Chris Mandel, one of the lawyers hired to lead the investigation, told the Pioneer Press the interviews will be finished by Friday and the report would be released within 10 days of the last interview.

Kluwe said he looks forward to seeing the reports findings.

“That’s very good news,” Kluwe said by phone about the report soon to be done. “We’ve been waiting a while, and I think everybody is anxious to see what it contains.’’
