The Los Angeles Dodgers have halted Chad Billingsley's rehab program after a difficult bullpen session on Tuesday.

Billingsley said he was unable to "max it out" in the session and the team hopes to have more information after the starter is examined by doctors on Thursday, according to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times.

The right-hander had Tommy John surgery after just two starts last season, and saw his first game action since the procedure with a rehab start on Sunday.

Billingsley had a 4.21 ERA and 152 strikeouts in 32 starts in 2011, his last full season with Los Angeles.
