Edson Buddle's contract has been terminated by Ingolstadt of Germany's second division.

Signed a year ago from the Los Angeles Galaxy, the 30-year-old American scored six goals this season. But he didn't dress in December for the team's final game before the winter break, and Kicker magazine said then he was struggling with fitness.

Buddle, a member of the 2010 U.S. World Cup team, had a trial in January with Everton in England.
