Manchester City's Tevez banned from driving for speeding
MORECAMBE, England (AP) -- Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been banned from driving for speeding.
Magistrates in the northern English town of Lancaster imposed the interim ban on Monday after he failed to provide identification when he was caught speeding in nearby Morecambe on March 28.
The Argentina international did not attend the hearing.
His solicitor Gwyn Lewis told the court that "my instructions are though (Tevez) was not the driver on that occasion I am not going to argue against a ban on grounds of exceptional hardship.''
Separately, Tevez's Porsche Panamera was impounded in Manchester on Nov. 15 because he could not produce a full British driving license.
Two days later, Tevez mimicked driving a car after he scored twice in his team's Premier League win against Aston Villa.
