CAIRO (AP) -- Ivory Coast pair Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba and Cameroon's Alex Song are the finalists for the African Player of the Year award.

The winner will be announced Dec. 20 in Ghana.

Toure won the English Premier League title with Manchester City and reached the final of the 2012 African Cup of Nations. Drogba won the Champions League with Chelsea and was also part of the Ivory Coast team that won every game at the African Cup until falling to Zambia on penalties in the final in Gabon.

Song was one of Arsenal's standout players last season before moving to join Barcelona.

Egypt's Mohamed Aboutrika and Zambian pair Rainford Kalaba and Stoppila Sunzu were the three finalists for the best Africa-based player.
