Geoff Cameron's first goal in English soccer pulled Stoke level with Arsenal at the Emirates.

The United States' Goeff Cameron opened his Stoke City account with an equalizing goal against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but that would be his team's only tally as the Gunners scored two more for a 3-1 victory.

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring after just five minutes, but Cameron leveled the scores at one just over 20 minutes later. The sometimes-defender, sometimes-midfielder hit a left footed finish at the top of the penalty box after a previous Stoke effort hit the base of the goalpost. Below is a GIF of the goal.

Unfortunately for Cameron and Stoke, that goal would be as close as they would get to stealing a point. Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna put the Gunners ahead with headers off of service from Mesut Özil, and Arsenal continued their renaissance with a 3-1 win.

Cameron's goal was his first in English soccer after moving from the MLS' Houston Dynamo to Stoke a season ago. Cameron has started all of Stoke's opening five Premier League games at right back this season -- a stretch in which Stoke has performed surprisingly well under new manager Mark Hughes. The Potters held Manchester City to a scoreless draw last weekend and won their previous three matches after losing their opener to Liverpool.
