Oguchi Onyewu

Oguchi Onyewu's seemingly endless club switching continues. English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday announced on Saturday that it has signed the out-of-contract American defender on a short-term deal that lasts until the end of the season. The move could potentially bring some playing time to a player that has seen precious little of it in recent years.

Once a consistent starter for the U.S. national team, Onyewu's career has been nothing if not nomadic on the club level. Since his move from Belgium's Standard Liège to A.C. Milan in 2009, Onyewu has changed clubs six times. Most recently, he signed a short-term deal with Queens Park Rangers that lasted until this month, but did not appear in any games under manager Harry Redknapp.

Injuries have had a fair amount to do with Onyewu's decline. The defender tore his ACL just as he was getting started with Milan, and subsequently dealt with other knee injures and groin problems.
