Brek Shea

Brek Shea hasn't exactly had a ton of playing time while on loan from Stoke City at Barnsley, but he'll have the opportunity to earn more between now and April.

One of three U.S. internationals to be sent on loan by Stoke, Shea has extended his loan with the Tykes by two months, the League Championship club announced on Tuesday. Shea has made just two first-team appearances: His debut on New Year's Day against Birmingham and another start on Jan. 18 against Blackpool.

His loan, which was originally a 28-day deal, will now last through April 3, which gives him the opportunity to play in 14 more games. That includes Tuesday's league match against Blackburn.

In addition to Shea, Stoke has Juan Agudelo on loan at FC Utrecht (where he made his debut over the weekend) and Maurice Edu on loan with the Philadelphia Union (where he will remain for the duration of the 2014 MLS season). U.S. defender Geoff Cameron, meanwhile, remains a staple for Stoke's starting lineup.
