Of the players on Real Madrid likely to put Bayern Munich's hopes of a Champions League repeat to the sword, veteran defender Sergio Ramos likely did not rank very high on anybody's list. So with Bayern Munich going down 2-0 at home (and 3-0 on aggregate) to Real Madrid in the early stages of their semifinal second leg on Tuesday, it was all that more stunning that those goals did not come off the feet or head of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema or Gareth Bale.

Instead, it was Ramos, who capitalized on poor set-piece marking twice within four minutes to put Bayern in an unthinkable hole 20 minutes into the high-profile bout at Allianz Arena in Munich.

Ramos, who had yet to score in the Champions League this season and had two goals in all competitions this season prior to Tuesday, set the tone for a stunning first half, in which Madrid wound up leading 3-0 after a Ronaldo goal. Watch the goals below (via Fox Soccer):
