Antonio Conte has resigned from Juventus F.C., Conte and the team announced Tuesday.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Conte and the club split due to differences over Juventus' transfer policy this summer. Yesterday, Corriere dello Sport reported that Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Manchester United are "closing in" on terms, and was just waiting for the clubs to agree on terms.

The Guardian reported in May that Conte would stay at Juventus for the 2014-15 season.

Former A.C. Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri and former Manchester City and Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini are reportedly among the leading candidates to take over for Conte.

Juventus finished first in Serie A last season, though the club failed to make it out of the group stage of the Champions League.
