FC Barcelona's Xavi Hernandez is mulling three offers to play in the MLS, Marca.com reports.

Before the World Cup, Spanish midfielder had reportedly been offered a contract with a club in Qatar worth €8 million ($10.8 million) per year, tax free. But, after Spain was tied for the first team to be eliminated from the 2014 tournament, the offers from Qatar have been withdrawn.

The contracts offered from either of the three MLS teams (New York City FC, New York Red Bulls, and Seattle Sounders FC) will not be nearly as rich. As a result, Marca.com reports that Hernandez and his representatives are negotiating a buy-out with Barcelona for a significant amount of the €24 million left on his contract.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, via Marca.com:

"I had a conversation with Xavi, and we talked about it. It is topic that is open, it is a player who has a contract in effect. We are at the expense of his decision. He’s a Barca player that I like and the topic is still open for both parties."
