Jeremy Mathieu to sign four-year deal with Barcelona
FC Barcelona and Valencia CF have reached an agreement on the transfer of defender Jeremy Mathieu to Barcelona, who will sign a four-year deal, the team announced on Wednesday.
Mathieu has already flown to Barcelona, and on Thursday he will undergo medical tests, sign his contract and be introduced at a press conference.
Barcelona will pay a €20 ($29.6 million) transfer fee for Mathieu, and his contract will have an option for a fifth-year and a €50 ($67.3 million) buyout clause.
“The club know how I play and I’m just coming to do my very best," Mathieu said on arrival in Barcelona. “Barca is the best club in the world, and coming here is a great opportunity for me”.
