Mexico to play Chile, Bolivia in September friendlies in USA
The Mexican national team will play two friendlies in the United States this September, MLS announced Tuesday.
Mexico will play Chile on Sept. 6, in the first international soccer game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Mexico played at Candlestick Park in 2013, where it drew Peru 0-0.
On Sept. 9, Mexico will face Bolivia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. This will be Mexico's third visit to the stadium.
The matches will be Mexico’s first matches in the USA following the conclusion of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. El Tri played a series of matches in the USA in the run-up to Brazil.
According to the San Jose Earthquakes, "given the FIFA fixture window, top stars for Mexico and its opponents are expected to participate" in the matches.
