The vanishing spray used at the 2014 FIFA World Cup to mark the distance players must stand during free kicks will be used in all Premier League matches starting this season, the league announced Wednesday.

Rob Harris of the Associated Press reports the Football League will also use the spray too, but not for all matches.

The spray, which disappears after 60 seconds, ensures the players stay 10 yards from the ball during free kicks.

From the Premier League:

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: “At the Premier League we are open to developments that enhance the competition and it was clear from watching the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil that Vanishing Spray benefitted referees, players, and all of those who watched the matches.

The Premier League will use the same brand of vanishing spray, produced by 915 Fair Play Limit, that was used at the World Cup in Brazil.
