Former Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini told FIFA.com that he would "come running" if he was offered the chance to manage the Italian national team.

Former Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini told FIFA.com that he would "come running" if he was offered the chance to manage the Italian national team.

The 49-year-old resigned from Galatasaray in June, and was replaced by the former manager of Italy's national team, Cesare Prandelli. Prandelli resigned after the country failed to make it out of the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Massimiliano Allegri was thought to be a candidate for the position before he accepted the job as manager of Juventus. The former Juventus coach, Antonio Conte, is also considered a strong candidate for the next manger of the Italy.

Mancini told Il Giorno: "It makes me very happy and proud to be in the thoughts of those who love the national team. I've always been patriotic, I never forget about 

Italy

 even when I've been working abroad.

"Who doesn't dream about coaching their national team? I'd come running. The reality, however, is that for now, no one has called me."
